A fierce snowstorm with wind speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour hit Alpine Meadows in California on December 22. The National Weather Service (NWS) reported the storm moving into the Sierra Nevada late on the Sunday morning. Ward Peak at Alpine Meadows recorded wind gusts of up to 113 miles per hour during the snowstorm, the NWS added. This footage, filmed at the Alpine Meadows ski resort, shows trees being buffeted as strong winds and heavy snow hit the mountain. Credit: Mike Ricker via Storyful
