Apple develops protective face shield for health workers

Tech Guide Editor Stephen Fenech says tech superstore Apple is “doing their bit” by using its resources to help health workers fighting the coronavirus pandemic. Mr Fenech told Sky News the company’s Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook announced earlier in the week that he repurposed Apple product designers to construct a face shield for health workers that would protect them as they treated infected patients. “Typical Apple it is really easy to use,” Mr Fenech said. The masks have been designed with a simple assembling process as well as packed efficiently so they can be distributed and put into action as quickly as possible. “They are doing their bit to get their supplies to the health workers on the frontline,” he said. “They have also sourced more than 20 million face masks through their supply chain as well. “While their stores might be closed, they are still working behind the scenes to try to help get this crisis under control.” Image: AP
