The Federal Court is expected to hand down a decision on Thursday as to whether the Caledonian Sky ship anchored in Darwin Harbour will be allowed to dock. Tour company APT challenged the Northern Territory’s refusal and claimed Health Minister Greg Hunt’s order for all cruise ships to leave Australian waters as soon as was practical was not valid. Authorities are concerned about setting a precedent for other ships if the Caledonian Sky is allowed to dock, despite the ship holding only 114 passengers and no cases of the coronavirus yet confirmed on board. The Australian Border Force has held off forcibly moving the ship until 5pm on Thursday as it awaits the court’s decision. Image: Getty
