“Plateauing” COVID-19 deaths in New York suggest there is hope the state could be on the cusp of turning the healthcare battle in its favour, Sky News contributor Michael Ware says. “Last Friday was the record, 731, but since then we’ve seen it go to 779, 790 and on and on through the high 700s,” Mr Ware said. “The whole time the New York’s been trying to chase the apex of the curve of death, well it turns out it’s a plateau. “They mightn’t be dropping by very much, or going up and down by just a little bit each day, but the point is it’s 700 and something.” The US death toll has more than doubled in the last week from almost 11,000 to more than 22,000.
