Woman, 58, one of two new COVID-19 deaths in NSW

Two more people have died from the coronavirus in New South Wales, bringing the national COVID-19 death toll to 69. NSW Health Minister Brad Hazzard announced a 58-year-old woman and 83-year-old man died from the virus overnight. Mr Hazzard said 25 people were being treated in intensive care units across the state, and eight required ventilation. The Health Minister said more than 40 per cent of confirmed cases in the state were people under the age of 40. “So for those of you who think you cant get COVID-19 because you’re younger, well you absolutely can,” he said. Mr Hazzard said 1238 of the 2936 confirmed cases were under the age of 40 “so my message to young people is take it very seriously, very very seriously”. Image: Getty
