Queensland government pledges $250 million on surgery backlog

The Queensland government has promised to spend $250 milllion on slashing surgery wait times which have blown out during the coronaivurs crisis. Procedures for more than 7000 Queenslanders have been affected by the cancellation of elective surgery. Health Minister Steven Miles has promised the investment will help public hospitals get through the backlog, allowing them to provide extra theatre lists at night and on weekends. Image: Getty
