Illegal fireworks have been a scourge this summer for residents in many American cities battling to get a good night’s sleep. They can also be dangerous, as fires and burnt homes attest. In Denver, the police department took to social media to head off the use of fireworks over the July 4 holiday weekend by filming a bust fed by an undercover informant. “What we are hoping to do is take a lot of the fireworks out of play before the Fourth of July so that people wouldn’t be able to set them off,” said one officer. “The reason why these types are illegal is they cause serious injuries to people.” Credit: Denver Police Department via Storyful
