International university students locked out of Australia due to the coronavirus pandemic will be eligible for post-study visas as part of the government’s plan to halt a severe drop in university revenue. Under the usual visa regulations, overseas students were eligible for a post-study visa if they studied the course in Australia. The education sector was estimated to lose about $16 billion over three years due to the pandemic.
