Sky News contributor Michael Ware says he was astounded by the “so many horrors” taking place in Melbourne’s hotel quarantine system which were propelled by the government’s “outsourced” security firms. Reports emerged suggesting security guards employed to enforce quarantine measures on returned travellers slept with guests and allowed them to break strict isolation regulations by leaving their rooms. More than 50 cases of coronavirus have been so far linked back to the failed hotel quarantine system. “Keeping our Australian public safe and protected from a global pandemic is essentially a sacred trust that we should hold in a government - the first thought is who on earth considered outsourcing this security,” Mr Ware told Sky News. “This takes professionals with honour who are in the service of their country,” he said. “Some of these [security] companies are just cowboys in it for the rork. “To think that a democratic state outsourced this sacred duty to what turns out to be a fly-by-night operation, it astounds me.” Image: News Corp Australia
