Dense fog reduced visibility in Melbourne, Australia, prompting authorities to issue road weather warnings to motorists on July 16. The state’s traffic authority urged drivers to turn their headlights on and keep a greater distance between vehicles as the fog reduced visibility to under 100 metres. Thick fog was reported to have affected Melbourne’s city centre, as well as the inner suburbs and the Dandenong Ranges but was due to gradually clear over the course of the morning.
