South Australia Premier Stephen Marshall has asked the Prime Minister to convene a meeting of the first ministers for the Murray-Darling Basin states and the Australian Capital Territory to review the royal commission report. The inquiry into the management of the Murray-Darling Basin Plan found river allocations were driven by politics rather than science and called for a complete overhaul of the Murray-Darling Basin Plan. Mr Marshall says the SA government is taking the report seriously and would like to make an extensive review of the original plan.
