Rising floodwaters threatened homes in Ottawa on Sunday, April 28, prompting officials to declare a state of emergency. This footage shows floodwaters in Brittania Park, which is located along the Ottawa River. The uploader tweeted that the park was “almost completely under water.” Hydro Ottawa tweeted that they had opened all the spans of the Ring Dam for the second time in their history. People along the Ottawa River voluntarily evacuated. Ottawa had been under a state of emergency since Thursday, due to rising water levels along the river as a result of recent rainfall and snowmelt, Global News reported.
