Severe thunderstorms brought heavy rain and strong winds to Andrews County, near Midland, Texas, on April 22 and 23, resulting in flood warnings from the National Weather Service (NWS). This video, shared to Facebook, shows rain gushing down on a property in Andrews, while images show hail in the area. Other social media uploads also showed golf ball-sized hailstones that had fallen on the region. The NWS said winds of up to 50 mph hit Andrews County, and warned residents to “please stay indoors” as the storm passed. On April 23, flash flood warnings were issued for local areas. “Strong to severe thunderstorms continue across the Permian Basin and Trans Pecos, with large hail, damaging winds, and heavy rainfall leading to flash flooding the main concerns,” the NWS said in an alert.
