The latest scam watch statistics from the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission show business scams were up 53 per cent in the last year. Executive Manager of Business Customer Solutions at Commonwealth Bank David Budzevski says many scams are targeting small business, including device takeover, and stolen cards being utilised on online platforms, putting them in a position where their business is potentially compromised. Mr Budzevski says small business is more susceptible to scams due to their entrepreneurial resources and education, while large corporations have the means to invest in cyber security and IT teams. Mr Budzevski gives his tips on how CBA and the industry can ensure their customers are informed, and provide solutions for small business to ensure their information is safe and secure.
