British Prime Minister Theresa May has announced she will resign as leader of the Conservatives on 7 June in an emotional address outside Downing Street on Friday morning. Ms May's voice broke as she lamented on her regret that she was unable to deliver Brexit to the British people according to their wishes. The outgoing prime minister will remain in her role until the new leader is chosen. The leadership race will begin on the week of 10 June.
