A clean-up was underway in the Pyrenees village of Beaudean on May 23 and 24, after a mudslide swept through. La Depeche described how “rivers of mud” flowed through the village. Meteo Pyrenees said 80 mm of rain fell in just a few hours. As a result, homes, cellars, a local school and other buildings were inundated. Cars were carried off too, the agency said, and a bridge damaged. Credit: Météo Pyrénées/Météo 65 via Storyful
