Manly Daily editor Robbie Robbie Patterson says Independent candidate Zali Steggall has tapped into a ‘thirst’ within the Warringah to combat climate change. According to a survey commissioned by Australian Futures Project and Roy Morgan research, 47 per cent of voters say climate change is the number one issue for them during this election. Incumbent Warringah MP Tony Abbott has hinged his campaign on local transport issues, including a Beaches Link tunnel. Mr Abbott has been the sitting member for 25 years but faces a tough challenge to win the socially-progressive seat at next month’s election.
