The Morrison government unveiled plans for a national gas reservation scheme on Tuesday morning in a bid to increase power supplies and ease pricing pressure. Energy Minister Angus Taylor will make an announcement alongside Resources Minister Matt Canavan claiming a larger gas reserve would ensure exports don’t come at the expense of domestic supply. The ministers say the plan will lead to savings of $270 a year for the average household. Mr Taylor said the measures announced in the scheme will recognise we need a “comprehensive plan across the gas supply chain" which deals with production, prices and market transparency.
