Coronial inquest investigates death of Indigenous woman in custody

A coronial inquest into the death of a 55-year-old indigenous woman in police custody will begin in Victoria on Monday. The coroner will examine whether systemic racism played a part in the death of Tanya Day, who sustained head injury in police custody and died in hospital 17 days later. The inquest is expected to go for three weeks.
