A motorist drove through swirling debris in Springfield, New Jersey, on August 7 as the National Weather Service said a tornado touched down in the vicinity. The National Weather Service confirmed the EF-0 touched down near Springfield Avenue and Route 22. The radar estimated 70 miles per hour winds accompanied the weak twister. A storm system in the area caused downed power lines and widespread flooding, according to NJ.com.
