Victorian Police are taking a stand against crowd violence at football matches by putting dozens of AFL supporters on a police hit list. Thirty fans have been placed on a “persons of interest” register and another 27 have been given year-long bans. Photographs of fans on the register and their offending history are distributed to police each match. Police admit the majority of supporters are well behaved, but there are a few who "cause trouble".
