Three more people have been killed during protests over a new citizenship law in India. The new law by the country’s Hindu-nationalist government gives citizenship to minority communities from Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh but Muslims have been left off the list. University students - who are driving the movement - say it is discriminatory and against the spirit of the Indian constitution, accusation the government has rejected. At least six people have died since the start of protests last week, with hundreds more injured. The government has not shown signs of backing down from the laws. Image: AP
