The Real Estate Institute of Queensland has launched a campaign against rent protection laws set to go through the state parliament next week, calling on 600,000 landlords across Qld to reach out to their Premier. The laws include a six month ban on evictions and all non-essential inspections as well as a waiver on rental payments. The REIQ said the proposed changes were too in favour of tenants. The institute said the protections could force landlords to sell their properties at a lower rate as a consequence of losing money through their tenants. Image: AP
