Inflation tipped to rise by 1.4 per cent

The Consumer Price Index is expected to rise about 0.9 per cent for the March quarter and about 1.4 per cent for the year up until March. Today the ABS will release data on the Consumer Price Index for March in addition to information on weekly payroll jobs and wages in Australia. Inflation is slowly creeping upwards with petrol prices increasing by 10 per cent over the three months until March. The RBA have said they will keep interest rates on hold until inflation increases to 2-3 per cent figure which is not expected until 2024.
