Large crowds gathered in Boise, Idaho to ring in the New Year with a giant potato. The annual Idaho Potato Drop took place outside the Idaho statehouse for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic began. This footage, recorded and posted to Facebook by Mark Stephens, shows the massive potato suspended by a crane while people chant “po-ta-to” in excitement for it to drop to signify the beginning of 2022.
