A powerful winter storm dumped as much as 10 inches of snow in the Washington, DC, area on Monday, January 3, according to local reports. The storm severely curtailed area travel, with more than 80 percent of flights at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport canceled, according to the tracking website FlightAware.
