Nationals Senator Matt Canavan says Australia is on the same track as the United Kingdom after signing up to net zero by 2050 amid Britain’s energy crisis. “We signed up to this net zero emissions, we’re shutting down our coal-fired power stations,” Mr Canavan told Sky News Australia. “We’re not quite as far advanced, we still have some time, but if we don’t act to increase supply today, we will be in the same circumstances that Europe find themselves in the next few years.”
