A Russian court has rejected WNBA star Brittney Griner’s appeal against her nine-year sentence for drug charges. The Biden administration says it is working to bring her back to the United States as Ms Griner prepares to serve her sentence in one of Russia’s penal colonies. Ms Griner was convicted in August 2022 of possession and smuggling of drugs in Russia.
