Opposition Leader Peter Dutton says the Coalition supports Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping but is “realistic” about “the environment in which we live”. “China’s been difficult, as you’ve seen with Canada, with New Zealand, with the United States, with Britain, and with Australia and many, many other countries over the course of recent years," Mr Dutton told Sky News Australia. “And we want a normalised relationship, we want a good trading relationship but most of all we want peace in our region and the Prime Minister will be pushing for that as other world leaders are and of course we support it. “But we’re realistic about what China is saying, what they’re doing, and the environment in which we live.”
