An airboat was used to rescue a man after he became stuck while trying to free his dog from mud near San Francisco International Airport, the San Francisco Fire Department said on December 30. The man had been walking his dog on a bike path off North Access Road when the dog got off its leash and ran into the bay, getting stuck in the mud. The man attempted to rescue the dog but became stuck himself, at which time the dog escaped from the mud and ran away. San Fransisco Airport workers responded with an airboat and were able to remove the man from the mud. They later tracked down and rescued the dog. Both the man and the dog were reported to be okay.
