The world has begun welcoming in 2019 with New Year's Eve celebrations underway across the globe. Athens and Moscow were amoung the first major European cities to herald in 2019, following dazzling celebrations across Asia. Revellers in Hong Kong were treated to a spectacular firework display costing $2.5 million. At least three hundred thousand people turned out in the harbour city to witness the show - which also included pyrotechnics, lights and music.
