Sydney NYE transport woes ‘an embarrassment’

Commuters faced delays of up three-and-a-half hours after celebrating New Year's Eve after the cancellation of services across Sydney. NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian says she understands the public’s ‘frustration,’ but that the delays were caused by a ‘freak lightning storm.’ She ruled out refunds or compensation but says she will demand a full explanation from Sydney Trains.
