The United Nations has said that boat turn backs don’t work, and the organisation have indicated they do not believe a new government will change the current policy. Sky News host David Speers says that while a lot of people still feel uncomfortable about turning back the boats, it is a part of the solution to illegal immigration and works when it’s appropriate to do so. The Sky News Political editor says the UN is missing the reality of the success Australia has had with boat policy, and that the organisation won’t have an influence on either side of politics.
