Australian investors appear in ‘wait and see’ mode ahead of the G20 summit in Japan this Friday and Saturday – with any updates on the China-US trade dispute likely to drive market activity. Elsewhere, Bitcoin has returned to headlines after months in the wilderness, with the price of the cryptocurrency regaining $US11,000 for the first time in 16 months. Facebook’s recent announcement that it will launch its own cryptocurrency, Libra, as early as next year has reignited interest in the space. And, at home, economists remain focused on next Tuesday’s Reserve Bank meeting in Darwin, with speculation growing that a second rate cut in as many months may be handed down.
