The immigration lawyer representing the Tamil family has told Sky News the family has “had a distressful few days” with a “lack of any sort of social contact with people”. The family-of-four - which is currently being held on Christmas Island - has received huge media attention, which immigration lawyer Carina Ford said “put them at a risk that was not previously considered”. Supporters are calling on the Home Affairs Minister to stop the planned deportation, however the government said the family-of-four were not refugees, and should not be given special treatment. The legal fight to save the family from deportation resumed in Melbourne's Federal court on Monday. Image: News Corp Australia
