Four to six inches of rain fell across Peoria, Illinois, in a 24-hour period, causing widespread flooding on Friday, September 27. According to local news reports, the storm swept across the northern half of Peoria and Woodford counties, and the area could see one or two more inches before the system moves out of the region. Roads were closed and police and fire crews had to conduct water rescues along University Street, the report said.
