Australian cases of COVID-19 ticks over 4,000

The total number of COVID-19 cases in Australia has risen past 4,000 as the death toll climbs to 17 people. New South Wales reported another 127 cases bringing the state’s total to almost 2,000. Victoria has surpassed 800 cases and Queensland is near 700. Tasmania confirmed its first fatality on Monday - a woman in her 80s. Image: Supplied
