Former professional tennis player Jaslyn Hewitt says the cancellation of sporting events due to the outbreak of COVID-19 is “becoming very widespread across the sporting community". The Association of Tennis Professionals is among the latest sport institutions to ban sport matches after the next round of the Davis Cup set to run in America was cancelled. Ms Hewitt told Sky News the ATP have announced April 20 as the date for restarting the nation’s tennis schedule “however given the state of play in the world at the moment I would suspect that may be pushed back”. The public was allowed entry to AFL and NRL matches over the weekend although spectators have been banned from the next round of matches. Image: AP
