‘Chaos rules’ in US as tensions rise over reopening

Sky News contributor Michael Ware has drawn parallels between the debate in the United States over when and how to reopen the economy to the “wild west”, saying “chaos now rules”. President Donald Trump has pushed for the sacking of vaccine specialist Dr Rick Bright, who is employed at the Department of Human Services, after he warned the US faced its darkest winter yet if lockdowns were lifted. Mr Ware told Sky News conflict between those pushing to reopen the states and those trying to slow the spread of the virus has escalated and become rife across the US. He said Americans were “painting this health crisis as a constitutional crisis infringing on their liberties”. “Save the economy, save lives is hitting upon a bunch of tensions between progressors and conservators, democrats and republicans, between the president and his own experts,” he said. “Honestly it comes down to dollars or lives.” Image: AP
