The Governor of Minnesota has called in the National Guard as protests worsen over the death of an unarmed African-American man while in police custody. Protesters clashed with authorities for the second night in Minneapolis, setting buildings on fire and looting department stores as police fired tear gas to disperse crowds. Thousands gathered where George Floyd died after an officer knelt on his neck during an arrest this week. Protesters, together with Mr Floyd’s family, are calling for the officers involved to be arrested and charged with murder. Image: AP
