Lines are forming outside the Blackwater showgrounds in Queensland after the grounds were converted into an emergency drive-thru coronavirus testing clinic. Locals have been told to get tested immediately even if they displayed mild flu-like symptoms. It comes after 30-year-old miner and Blackwater resident Nathan Turner, 30, died with COVID-19 on Tuesday. After a postmortem determined the 30-year-old contracted the coronavirus, authorities said they were working to uncover the source of the infection as no cases of the virus were previously confirmed in the town. An investigation is being conducted into a Rockhampton nurse who tested positive to the virus and reportedly drove 200 kilometres to Blackwater for recreational purposes, breaking the state’s travel restrictions at the time.
