‘Bed-wetting premiers’ need to stop ‘destroying’ states with ‘reckless policies’

Sky News host Rita Panahi says “bed-wetting” premiers need to look at the “gold standard” state of NSW for coronavirus responses instead of opting for a “nuclear option” to any outbreak. “It’s clear now that more than a year into this pandemic, premiers like Mark McGowan have learnt absolutely nothing, and their only solution to any outbreak, no matter how small, is a completely disproportionate, destructive response,” Ms Panahi said. “They every time go for the nuclear option. “They don’t want to look at NSW, look at the gold standard, look how you can take the bulk of overseas arrivals, carry the highest risk and still keep your state safe by sound contract tracing. “They want to lock down entire cities or entire states over a couple of cases.” Ms Panahi said the “madness” in Western Australia, including its outdoor mask mandate, was “bonkers”. “Today, you will be breaking the law if you’re walking along a deserted beach in the Peel region without a mask,” she said. “These bed-wetting premiers need to look at the evidence, look at the best example, and stop destroying their own cities and states by these reckless policies.” Western Australia is in a three-day lockdown until midnight on Monday after an outbreak at a Perth hotel. Sky News host James Morrow said “lefty” premiers have used “science” to go after anything they’re not a big fan of. “One of those things, frankly, has always been Anzac Day,” Mr Morrow said. “From the very beginning, for decades now, the left has had a problem with Anzac Day. “They’ve always said it glorifies all those horrible things, you know, like mateship and sacrifice and courage and, even worse, masculinity. “Therefore, it’s something that they’re not particularly comfortable with, and so of course we’ve seen in Perth and Peel no Anzac Day celebration there.”
