Emotional Scenes at George Floyd Square After Derek Chauvin Guilty Verdict Announced

Jurors returned a verdict of guilty on all three charges against former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin, who was tried for the murder of 46-year-old George Floyd, on Tuesday, April 20, after less than 10 hours of deliberation. Chauvin was found guilty on all three charges – second-degree unintentional murder, third-degree murder, and second-degree manslaughter – for the killing of Floyd. The verdict was announced just after 4 pm on Tuesday afternoon at the Hennepin County Government Center.
