The European Super League is on the brink of collapse just three days after it was announced after nine of the 12 founding clubs withdrew from the competition. Super League founder Andrea Agnelli said the withdrawal of six high profile English teams has forced him to concede defeat but he is unapologetic about the venture. “I remain convinced of the beauty of that project, of the value that would have developed in the pyramid, of the creation of the best competition in the world,” Mr Agnelli said.
