Port Botany workers tested for COVID-19 after infected PNG carrier docked

Workers at Port Botany have undergone testing for COVID-19 after a ship with infected crew members docked in Sydney. Six of the 15 port workers tested have so far returned a negative test result. The Inge Kossan bulk liquid carrier from Papua New Guinea spent 24 hours at Port Botany on March 31 before travelling to Vanuatu. where authorities confirmed 12 out of 13 crew members tested positive. Authorities confirmed 12 of the 13 crew members had tested positive including a member whose body was found on a Port Villa beach on April 11.
