US ‘might have some momentum’ to change policing laws

Sky News contributor Michael Ware says it might “finally be time to pass this overreaching police reform Bill” in America after the deaths of 20-year-old Daunte Wright and 16-year-old Ma’Khia Bryant shook the nation. “It’s been a tough week for America to absorb all of this in a such a short period of time and the reverberations from all these events that seem to be cascading will continue for some time,” he told Sky News. Mr Ware said it looked “like there might be some momentum” to change the powers police officers have and says the George Floyd justice Bill is making tracks in the Senate. “Already there’s talking underway by some of the Democrats and the Republicans, and the Republican Senator Tim Cook said ‘we’re a lot closer to agreement than not’ so there’s hope that this reform Bill will pass.”
