Victorian man tests positive to COVID after two-weeks in Perth quarantine hotel

A Victorian man has tested positive to COVID-19 after returning to Melbourne following a 14-day stay in a Perth quarantine hotel. Victoria Health Minister Martin Foley confirmed the man was a close primary contact of another case as he had been staying in an adjacent room to an infected resident of the quarantine hotel. The infected man travelled to Melbourne from Perth on Wednesday, April 21 – with all other passengers on board now undergoing testing and required to complete 14-days in isolation. Mr Foley said the man was taken straight from the Melbourne airport to his eastern suburbs home – but was moved to hotel quarantine upon his request after undergoing the COVID test on Thursday afternoon.
