Europe’s COVID-19 vaccine rollout is being criticised as unacceptably slow by the World Health Organisation who has accused the bloc of prolonging the pandemic. The WHO said Europe had failed to step up production and manufacturing of the jab and is concerned about barriers to administering and stockpiling the vaccine. WHO Director for Europe Dr Hans Kluge is concerned countries will be forced into rolling lockdowns if immunisation rates remain low.
