Australia calls out Chinese coercion

Australia has called out Chinese coercion in a blistering statement to the World Trade Organisation. In a rare frank assessment by the federal government, but Canberra has accused Beijing now of being politically motivated in its 18 month campaign of coercion targeting Australian exporters. This was a two-page statement released to the World Trade Organisation and it lays out the long lists of Australian exports that have been caught in this $20 billion trade retaliation taken against Australia – including wine beef barley and lobster. Beijing has made no secret of the fact that its unhappy with Australia's foreign interference laws – releasing a list of 14 grievances targeted at Australia. The Australian government has told the WTO that no cuntry no matter its size should be able to demand these sort of conditions of another member.
