Lava Spews From ‘Noisy’ Cumbre Vieja Volcano

The Cumbre Vieja volcano, also known as Tajogaite, continued to erupt on the Spanish island of La Palma on Tuesday, October 5, a little over two weeks after its initial eruption on September 19. This footage shows fiery lava spewing out on Tuesday evening, according to the source, Twitter user @efadi_LP, or Roger. Roger, who said he recorded this footage at 8:40 pm, said the volcano was “still very noisy.” More than 1,000 buildings and over 400 hectares of land (1.5 square miles) had been affected by the volcano’s eruption as of Sunday, October 3, the EU’s Copernicus Emergency Management Service reported.
